Gupicom (born Thaddeus Harewood Poecilia-Mueller) joined Epicom’s team in December of 2011. Recommended by Justin Browne, Gupicom came to us with an impressive background in nuclear engineering, business development, and beatboxing.
Born in Trinidad, Gupicom swam to New York city with his mother in 1982 for “new beginnings.” While his mother worked 4 jobs to support her and her son, Thaddeus impressed the swimming coach at the prestigious Trinity School located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan so much that he received a full scholarship.
After graduation and a failed career in rap music, Thaddeus uprooted to California’s Silicon Valley where he was a temp clerk for a start-up while attending UCLA’s Nuclear Engineering program. His aptitude for cutting edge innovation combined with his boardroom charisma set him down a fast moving stream in the tech industry as a consultant for growing companies.
After a short stint at NASA, Gupicom moved to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue his passion for rap music and began going by the name T-Gup. Here, he collaborated with fellow Trinidadian Nicki Minaj before she signed with Young Money Entertainment. In 2011, Gupicom’s love of fresh beats brought him to Austin, Texas, the music capital, where he returned to doing what he does best: consulting and growing start-ups.
Gupicom’s greatest career accomplishment is starting a web based Fantasy Fishing company that allows fishermen to enjoy the sport without harming water dwelling creatures.
When he’s not doubling revenue for tech start-ups, Gupicom competes in competitive swim meets across the globe and once trained with Michael Phelps. Every week T-Gup raps live at the famous Antone’s Nightclub. He still keeps in touch with Nicki.
