Jim joined Epicom in spring of 2012. He escaped the windy city of Chicago when he was only two with his family to the Dallas, Texas area. Jim then moved one last time to Austin to attend The University of Texas where he received his degree in Linguistics in 2006.
Though passionate about words, he always wanted to be an inventor or a spy so he could solve real problems for people. Once he realized spies work weekends, he decided to take his computer programming hobby to the next level and return to UT to continue his education in Biochemistry. Jim is currently contributing to the engineering department as an intern where he works on customer support and internal CRM projects.
Jim isn’t all software and science, though. During in his undergraduate years, he put his linguistic degree to great use and contributed to the Texas German Dialect Project where he documented the dialect of German spoken in Texas before it becomes extinct. Jim continued his string of good deeds and served in the Peace Corps from 2006-2009 as an English Teacher and regional manager in the lovely Republic of Benin.
When he isn’t engineering software programs or traveling with only the best intentions, Jim likes to go confluence hunting. Don’t know what that is? Neither did we, but ask him about it and that will quickly change.
